 Q. Why feed haylage as opposed to hay?

 A.  Haylage is made from a specialist grass seed mix for horses and as it is wrapped and fermented it is dust free,

this is one of the most importent differencs between the two,

many horses have respiratory problems which are aggrevated by eating dry hay,

haylage eliminates the dust spores which cause this.

Because the grass is fermented it extremley paletable and nutritous and horses love it.

Each bag/bale is assigned a batch number which enables complete traceability and consistency of product.

Every batch of haylage is independently analyzed ensuring the correct nutritional levels in every bag.

Silvermoor Haylage is a forage tailor made for horses

from rye grass mixes which have been developed over

Silvermoor Active contains a higher protein than Silvermoor Recreation.

This is achieved by making it from younger grass, from the first crop of each year

it is designed for horses in hard work and is suitable for race horses, hunters,

trotters and endurance horses of all types.

                     RECREATION.

Designed to be suitable for all types of horses and ponies, from native breeds,

right up to Lenamore the Burghley Horse Trials 2010 winner.

'Recreation' often provides all the nutrition your horse requires from its forage,

it is cost effective, dust free and fully traceable, making it the natural choice of forage for your horse.

Recreation is also suitable for native ponies and lamanitics or those with the potential to suffer from laminitis.

Also horses at rest; providing hard feed and management are adjusted accordingly,

due to it's higher fibre lower protein and energy content.

'Recreation' is highly palatable so is great for fussy feeders, meaning less waste.

Available in easy to handle, weather proof 22kg bales.

Once opened the haylage will last for approximately 5 days

and unopened have a shelf life of 9 months.
